Pakistan trio sign for Lalitpur Patriots in Everest Premier League

"We sure are the favourites this time around," says head coach after signing of Hammad Azam, Hassan Khan and Mir Hamza


The defending champions of Everest Premier League 2019, Lalitpur Patriots have announced the signing of all-rounders Hammad Azam and Hassan Khan and left-arm seamer Mir Hamza – all from Pakistan.

The event gets underway March 14 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.

Hassan played in the 2018 and 2019 editions of the PSL, appeared in GT20 Canada 2019 and was captain of Pakistan’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. All-rounder Hammad Azam brings a string of form in domestic cricket at home and Mir Hamza was signed by Sussex for the 2019 County Championship.

“It brings a great balance into the squad and with our very own boys doing exceptionally well in recent tournaments, we sure are the favourites this time around too. I am very happy with my now confirmed team, it’s very balanced”, said coach Raju Basnyat.

As per the tournament regulations, all the participating teams need to have a minimum of three foreign players in their 16-member squad and playing eleven. Gyandra Malla remains the captain who is also the marquee player of The Patriots.
