Nepal’s Everest Premier League has announced sportswear brand Seven as their new principal sponsor for the 2021 competition. With press gathered at the Malshree Hall, Soaltee Crown Plaza, Aamir Akhtar, Managing Director of the league, made the announcement earlier today.

An Indian-base active lifestyle sportswear brand launched in 2016, Seven will also be the exclusive kit and merchandise partner for the league and its six teams.

“I would like to thank the entire team of SEVEN for showing their vote of confidence in us and it’s heartening to see how Everest Premier League is slowly and gradually building a reputation of being one of the premier cricket leagues in the world,” Akhtar told the press.

This association will help us to reach out to wider array of viewers and will significantly help in the development and promotion of Cricket in Nepal.”

This year’s Everest Premier League will run in late September and early October, giving organisers more time to plan the event, allowing for a stronger recovery from Covid-19 and to avoid the rainy seasons. The October 9 finish also means the tournament concludes at the start of Dashain, Nepal’s great harvest festival.

For those watching from home, organisers have pledged a slicker television production, in unseen previously in Nepali sport. Foreign production talent will be brought in to broadcast the tournament, with third umpires and more camera angles than any other cricket event held in the country.

The Everest Premier League is officially sanctioned by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)

Seven also plan to open three stores in the city of Kathmandu over the next two years, and intend to expand to over a dozen stores across the country.
