Tsione’s name did the rounds last weekend after his gravity-defying pluck from the sky, though it’s his output with the bat that will be of more importance if the MT Bulls are going to take out the tournament.
Thousands on social media rightfully hailed Tsione’s vertical ability in the outfield, though providing a support role for Andrew Mansale at the top of the Bulls order has been crucial in his team’s comeback – all the more important after the loss of Patrick Matautaava to injury last week.
Even if the Bulls do sweat on Patrick’s shoulder for tomorrow’s action, the form of the makeshift opening pair should console anyone concerned. Swatting 37* from 19 balls with four sixes and two fours (in the supporting role), you can excuse the Panthers for feeling a little nervy if it is the Bulls progressing from tomorrow’s early match against the Sharks.
Watch out if Tsione hits the ground running early tomorrow.
