EC World Cup of Jerseys: Group E

32 of the best jerseys in Associate Cricket to compete in a public vote.

By Tom Grunshaw and Daniel Beswick

We are halfway through World Cup of Jerseys group stage, and half the round of sixteen list is made up!

It was Dutch domination with both the current kit and the 1996 World Cup shirt running away from the field to advance over Ireland 2007 and Fiji’s U19 World Cup effort of 2016.

In the other groups run and done, Tanzania and Nepal progressed to the knockout stages from Group A, Vanuatu and Scotland 1999 progressed in Group B, while the Pink of Bermuda storming home and Rwanda scraping enough votes across Twitter and Facebook to squeeze through Group C.

Two throwback jerseys and two current kits make up group E.

Note: Jerseys are the current kits used by both men’s and women’s teams unless stated.

The dominance of blue is unavoidable in Full Member circles, but Afghanistan both before and after joining the group of Test nations have always brought something different to the table.

Moving away completely from their dark grey kit, Afghanistan unleashed a mix of blues, golds and other national colours, along with a glowing red helmet to truly stand out from the rest of the pack, three years before Full Membership.

Germany

Sticking to the colours of their national flag, Germany’s cricket team aren’t able to flaunt a white kit in limited-overs cricket for obvious reasons. Instead, a smart black and red has been put together, topped off by a yellow trim.

Papua New Guinea Circa 2012-2014

Papua New Guinea perhaps get a slight advantage over the rest of the field, with the baggy cap with yellow and red hoops an awesome addition. This particular kit of the team, sporting the red ‘V’ with yellow trim sets itself apart from the rest of their creations.

South Korea

Sometimes less is more and South Korea’s kit embodies that idea.

An all-midnight blue design, the country’s name on the front, plus the names and numbers on the back stick out beautifully. Sporting their national flag on their heart of the jersey instead of the governing body’s logo, no one can mistake them for anybody else!
