The bilateral T20I series between Nepal and Qatar which was scheduled for 9-12 of February has been postponed.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Monday that due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in Qatar, the Cricket Association of Qatar has deferred its bilateral series as per orders from their government.
‘We have seen an 85% increase this month compared to last month in the number of people admitted to hospital with COVID-19. It is more important than ever that people adhere to preventive measures. Act now to prevent a second wave of infections,’ the Ministry of Public Health Qatar tweeted on Sunday.
CAN, six days earlier, had officially announced the series and called their eighteen men for the closed camp on Friday. The closed camp for the series was scheduled to commence from Monday. According to CAN, the closed camp of the men’s team has also been halted until further notice.
