Men’s and women’s T20 World Cup Europe Finals to be live streamed

ICC confirms 21 games across two events to be streamed with 3 camera production

  • ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Final 2019 will be hosted in Guernsey between 15th – 20st June (Six teams – single round robin)
  • ICC Women’s Qualifier Europe 2019 will be hosted in Spain between 26th – 30th June (Four teams – double round robin)

After announcing the news, Ed Shuttleworth – ICC Development Manager Europe, spoke with us on the details of the arrangement.

“It is a pleasure to confirm all 6 games at the ICC Women’s Europe Qualifier 2019 and all 15 games at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Final 2019 will be live streamed on ICC global Facebook and YouTube. The live streams will be three camera productions, with integrated scoring and a supporting commentary crew. We look forward to showcasing the growing European game to a global audience”, he said.

In the men’s tournament, hosts Guernsey will be joined by Denmark, Germany, Italy, Jersey and Norway in a single round robin event to be held between 15 and 20 June. The winner will join fellow European Members Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland in the T20 World Cup Qualifier between 18 October–15 November 2019 in the UAE.

The recently re-named “Golden Eagles” of Germany will compete in an ICC event for the first time when they travel to La Manga in Spain for the European Women’s Qualifier. They will be joined by Netherlands, Scotland in a double round-robin tournament between 26 and 30 June.

The side who finishes on top after the 6 round matches will progress to the 50-over World Cup global qualifier.

As hosts of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, Scotland are guaranteed a place in the next stage of the T20 World Cup pathway, leaving Germany and Netherlands to battle it out for the one European spot available in that format.

All matches will be full T20 Internationals.
