Martin Suji will be joining for this second stint but this time in a bigger role.
The Kenyan legend will continue the work he started last year when he was in charge of the national men’s team during the T20 Africa B World Cup qualifiers that were hosted by Rwanda. During that period, he was signed for a short term deal but left a big impression on the locals. This time he returns to Rwanda in a bigger role as technical director with the goal for helping them improve their overall outlook especially with the national teams.
He will be tasked with raising the capacity of the local coaches alongside preparing the national teams for competitions. The former fast bowler is very well known for his emphasis on hard work especially for the youngsters, fitting in line nicely with the RCA’s various successful development programs.
Suji is very familiar with cricket in the region as he has coached both the Ugandan and Kenya teams previously. He is due in the country next week to finalise negotiations and start work right away.
