Emerging Cricket is proud to announce that it has entered into partnership with the Cricket Association of Thailand to support the world record breaking Thailand Women’s team during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 and beyond.
In addition, Thailand Women’s captain Sornnarin Tippoch, ICC Women’s Emerging Player of the Year, Chanida Sutthiruang, and batter Natthakan Chantham have been named Emerging Cricket Ambassadors, joining men’s international skippers Kyle Coetzer (Scotland), Assad Vala (PNG), and Pieter Seelaar (Netherlands), along with PNG all-rounder Norman Vanua.
Speaking of her appointment Tippoch said: “I am delighted to be named Emerging Cricket Ambassador alongside such illustrious company. My appointment reflects the progress Thailand has made in women’s cricket, and I look forward to working with Emerging Cricket to spread the game far and wide, especially among young women and girls.”
As part of the arrangement, Emerging Cricket (EC) will provide media management services during the T20 World Cup for the Thailand Women, while also producing and publishing exclusive content across both organisation’s various platforms.
The chief executive officer of the Cricket Association of Thailand, Mohideen Kader, welcomed Emerging Cricket as a partner of Thai cricket. “We appreciate the support offered by Emerging Cricket who have quickly established pre-eminence in their coverage of the sport beyond the Test world.
“We are very proud of our Women’s squad and we are delighted to have Emerging Cricket’s team supporting them at Thailand’s first global event.”
Tim Cutler, former CEO of Cricket Hong Kong and founder of Emerging Cricket spoke about the partnership.
“The story of Thailand Women’s team is truly an inspiration, captured so well by our Nishadh Rego in his 2-part long-form article: The Smiling Assassins: how Thailand built a formidable women’s national cricket team.
“We are excited to extend our commitment to the sport beyond the mainstream, supporting Thailand’s Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in Australia, becoming an official partner of an inspiring organisation.
“Emerging Cricket is powered by a collective passion for the growth of the game, with a diverse network of contributors across 15 nations.
“During 2019 Emerging Cricket had writers on location in more than a dozen countries covering ICC events, franchise tournaments, and with three correspondents covering Thailand’s time in Australia for the T20 World Cup – along with Nishadh embedded with the team as media manager – we will ensure the sole Associate Member at this global event receives the coverage their accomplishments deserve.”
