Brazil and France were the big winners out of Friday’s annual update of the Women’s T20I rankings. Both nations made gains of more than 10 places to reach the top 30. The annual update removes matches of older than three years and adjusts the weighting of more recent matches.
Thailand maintain their tag of top Associate following their impressive debut at the T20 World Cup in February. They retain 11th place after the update, between Full Members Ireland and Zimbabwe.
Brazil moved 11 places up from 38th to 27th, whilst France jumped 10 places from 40th to 30th. Both reach the top 30 for the first time since Associate members were added to the rankings in 2019. USA also benefitted, up 4 places to 31st.
Whilst Brazil and France made big gains, Kuwait and Malaysia both slipped places. Kuwait fell 6 places to 36th, whilst Malaysia fell 7 to 38th.
Meanwhile, Belgium, Denmark and Qatar were removed from the rankings table, having played fewer than 6 matches in the last 3 years.
