Quarter-final three time!
Quarter-final two had the biggest voting numbers of the tournament thus far, as Germany and Jersey went toe-to-toe. Germany’s Facebook vote saw them through, as they booked the second semi-final spot.
In the first quarter-final Nepal faced some stiff competition from a brave Bermuda who won on the Twitter vote, though the strength across Facebook was enough for the favourites to progress.
In today’s third quarter-final, it’s Vanuatu taking on the Netherlands.
Here is the tournament bracket, as we crunch eight into four!
The third quarter-final is upon us! Let’s take a look at both kits!
Vanuatu got a lot of attention for holding live sport over the last few weeks, as one of few countries around the world able to host any action. Their national team kit, shared by both the men’s and women’s team also stands out – a predominantly green kit but also featuring other colours of their national flag, with a floral trim along the sleeves.
Competing in the ICC Challenge League when international cricket returns, Vanuatu’s bright colours will grace our streams, though for the moment the vibrancy of their domestic game has enjoyed hundreds of thousands of viewers.
Not many teams can almost claim a colour like the Dutch can with orange, and they tend to play well draped in their national colours. The Dutch team’s current kit also features a blue sleeve that creeps into the rest of the shirt, and brings out their orange logo.
The team went on to win the T20 World Cup Qualifier, and will pose a threat for the big boys in the Hobart group of the first round, assuming we get a tournament in.
For the knockout stages of the tournament, a third poll via our Emerging Cricket Facebook page has been introduced. Instead of the four-way polls, team now go head-to-head to find a World Cup winner!
On top of the page, make sure you are a member of our Facebook Group and follow our Twitter pages to maximise your voting power when we post out the polls!
