Vanuatu Cricket has announced that it will host a new high performance domestic T10 tournament. This tournament will aim to build on the success of the ‘BetBarter Vanuatu T10 Blast’ which propelled the country’s cricket scene to global fame in the early months of 2020.
The upcoming tournament sees the country’s best talent compete with and against each other for separate men’s and women’s titles. There promises to be plenty of action for fans to watch, as matches will be played every Saturday from 31st October 2020 and end on 28th November 2020.
The competing teams are the Mighty Efate Panthers, Ifira Sharks and the MT Bulls, with each fielding a men’s and women’s side. Due to the increased number of teams, there will be four games played each Saturday of the competition. The schedule sees two women’s games being played in the morning and two men’s games in the afternoon. All of the action will be played at the Vanuatu Cricket Ground.
With crowds being allowed at the venue, Vanuatu Cricket will be hoping to treat spectators with some good cricket, thereby increasing interest in the tournament even further.
For those familiar with the franchises, the question will be whether Ifira Sharks win back to back T10 tournaments following their victory at the BetBarter Blast.
