Eurowrap: Jinnah Brescia stay on course for a treble

Jinnah Brescia gave themselves a chance of pulling off a remarkable treble when they beat Baracca Prato by 91 runs on Sunday in a quarter-final of the Coppa d’Italia.

Already through to the finals of the 50-over and T20 championships, where they will meet Bergamo and Asian Latina, Jinnah will now take on Roma in the Cup semi-finals. Roma ended Asian Latina’s hopes of a T20 league-cup double with a six-wicket victory after restricting their opponents to 121 for eight.

In the other quarter-finals Fresh Tropical made 161 for nine before dismissing Milan United for 142, while Brescia raised the prospect of a derby cup final with a four-wicket win against Kings XI.

Beveren make it five in a row

Beveren took the Division 1 title in Belgium for the fifth year in a row on Sunday, and they did so in the easiest way possible – they didn’t need to bowl a ball or face one, as their final opponents Ostend forfeited the game.

That was enough to ease the defending champions past their rivals Ostend Exiles, who had an identical playing record but had accumulated 15 fewer bonus points.
