Emerging Cricket World Cup of Jerseys Launch

By Tom Grunshaw and Daniel Beswick

Associate cricket’s on-field action can struggle to steal the headlines it deserves, but the jerseys have never had to beg to grab attention.

As our television screens are washed with the same boring, Full Member team colours, we are blessed in the emerging world with a bit more creativity and garishness. As the advent of streams hopefully boosts the coverage in the Associate game, creativity and individuality of teams around the world has come to the fore.

Skippers ahead of the T20 World Cup Qualifier (ICC Media Zone)

Last year’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in UAE showed an array of colour, from the Netherlands orange to Bermuda’s bold pink selection. For Japan, they did not waste their opportunity on the big stage to show their colours at the U19 Cricket World Cup, a highlight in their cricket history.

So, with all this in mind, it’d only be fair to hold a hyper-competitive, 32-team Associate World Cup of Jerseys!

Eight groups of four were drawn, with two advancing from each group to the round of 16, where kits will then go head-to-head to crown a winner. Kits from the same nation must be drawn together and polls will be done via Twitter and our Facebook group for the pool stages, with the Facebook page added once we get to the knockout stages.

Make sure you are a member of our Facebook Group, like our Facebook page and follow our Twitter pages to maximise your voting power when we post out the polls!

Here is our draw!

  • This draw seems to be different from the draw on the Group A post...trying to work out if Japan made it in once or twice?!

    • Japan included twice erroneously - was supposed to be Uganda in the group too, not the second jersey - so was corrected and has now been updated!
