USA 164 (43.4) – End of innings

44th over – Patel with USA’s first ODI fifty! Taking just a tick over 70 balls. USA reach 160 as well, 9 down.

42nd over – Patel has moved past the record for the highest individual score in American ODI history, passing Clayton Lambert.

38th over – A late fightback from the USA with the 9th wicket pair putting on 28 in just over 9 overs

37th over – Tim Patel digging in for his country, well and truly into the 20s.

36h over – Soper concedes just two from his over as Netravalkar hangs around at number 10. A frustrating time for PNG who want to rip through this lineup and exact some revenge from their previous meeting.

  • I had predicted that this D2 format would degenerate into a farce in its later stages and its
done just that. Once a team has secured qualification they've taken a "don't care a hoot" for the
rest of the tourney. Oman a.o. in their two last matches for 76 and 81? USA loses their last
two matches, one to the weakest team in the tourney? Once a team has qualified pack your bags
    and head home.
Don't waste time and money with meaningless games.
