USA Cricket announces openings in women’s setup

USA Cricket has announced several vacancies in the Women’s Team, including Volunteer Women’s Coordinators, Women’s National Team Managers, and Women’s National Team Physio/Athletic Trainer.

The Volunteer Women’s Coordinator roles will work with the Volunteer Youth Coordinators and USA Cricket’s leadership to help facilitate the development of a new domestic structure, with a focus on increasing engagement opportunity for women and girls of all ages. Each of USA Cricket’s six zones will utilize at least one Women’s Coordinator.

The Women’s National Team Manager roles (Senior and U19) will include a wide range of responsibilities ranging from providing match day scoresheets, liaising with local and national leadership, maintaining equipment, managing player welfare, and supporting the Cricket Operations Director, the National Team Head Coach. This role is considered a part time position.

The Women’s National Team Physiotherapist/Athletic Trainer position will work with other USA Cricket staff in the development and implementation of fitness programs and injury prevention and rehabilitation programs, and more. Like the team manager, the physio will be employed part time and travel with the team.

’We are very excited by the plans we’re developing to give women and girls more opportunities than ever before to participate as players, officials, administrators and fans, and to create a strong domestic system to support our national teams’ performances,’ said USA Cricket Women and Girls Committee Chair, Nadia Gruny in the announcement. ’We are looking for passionate and committed volunteers who will work with us to help deliver those plans and to support the new domestic structure which will feature for the first time, Senior and U19 National Championship events. The Committee has identified the huge opportunity to increase the number of women and girls who play and follow the sport in this country, and will ensure that we place that objective at the heart of our activities during 2021 with the support of the volunteer coordinators.’

The application period for these women’s team vacancies opened on March 3 and closes on March 15.
