Singapore’s Tim David signed by RCB for IPL season

In a coup for Associate international cricket, Singapore-Australian Tim David has been signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the rescheduled IPL season.

The 25-year-old, with 14 T20 internationals to his name for Singapore, replaces New Zealand’s Finn Allen, among a number of roster changes.

Known for his late-over hitting and handy off-spin, David has enjoyed a fruitful year in T20 cricket around the world. Starting with a breakout BBL season at the Hobart Hurricanes, David enjoyed a successful stint at the Lahore Qalandars, and is now making a name for himself on the English domestic scene.

Striking at over 150 in his T20 career thus far, David only boosted his stocks through a strong one day campaign for Surrey, which included an unbeaten 140 off just 70 balls against Warwickshire.

David is one of a number of replacements made by RCB, as IPL teams shuffle their respective sides before a rescheduled season. Sri Lankan internationals Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera have also been included.

The IPL season resumes on September 20, with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders on September 21.

Tim David has made four T20I fifties for Singapore, as an integral member of the country’s run to the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier, also held in UAE.
