Paras Khadka tests postive for Covid-19

Former captain of the Nepal Cricket Team, and ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Decade nominee, Paras Khadka, has tested positive for Covid-19.

Just a day prior to the Gautam Buddha Cup, a local tri-series organized by the Bagmati Provincial Cricket Committee, his PCR report came back with the unwanted news.

According to Khadka, he has isolated away from the national closed camp over the last two days after showing mild symptoms. He posted a statement on social media explaining that he lost his smell and taste from Thursday evening, taking the test on Friday morning. His health condition is fine and has undergone a home isolation period.

He will miss the four days tri-series which is set to commence from Saturday at the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium, in Chitwan, Nepal.

Other players to miss the tournament are Nepal’s national vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, globetrotting leggie Sandeep Lamichhane and veteran Spinner Basanta Regmi. Dipendra Singh Airee is out due to family reasons, while Lamichhane will fly to Australia on the 15th of December to participate in the Big Bash League, representing the Hobart Hurricanes.

Recently, Nepalese veteran spinner Basanta Regmi also returned a positive Covid-19 Test that took away his chance of participating in the Gautam Buddha Cup.
