Netherlands home ODI series against England postponed

The Cricket World Cup Super League ODI series between the Netherlands and England slated for May 2021 has been postponed, it was announced today.

The press release from the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) quoted ‘the continuing uncertainty re the Covid-19 pandemic and the far-reaching consequences pertaining to the organisation of the three matches’ as the reason for the postponement of the series until May 2022.

‘The prospect of having to play these matches with hardly any or no spectators at all, was not a viable option for the KNCB, and the ECB showed their understanding for this situation,’ the release continued.

The series versus England would have been the first in the World Cup Super League for the Dutch after a previous home series against Pakistan had already been postponed.
