Nepal to tour Qatar for bilateral T20I series

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has confirmed that the Nepalese men’s team will visit Qatar for a bilateral series in the second week of February. This will be their first international series under coach Dav Whatmore who has recently taken charge. The series is organised by the hosts, Qatar Cricket Association to celebrate their National Sports Day and is scheduled to take place from 9 to 12th February.

The board meeting of CAN also has decided the prize money for the ongoing PM Cup National Cricket Tournament. As stated in their press release on Tuesday, they have decided to award the champions of the ongoing event with a cash prize of NRs One Million (~US$8,590), whereas the runners up will be awarded half a million Nepalese rupees (~$4,295). The semi-finalists will receive fifty thousand (~$430) each.

They have also stated that the player of the series will receive fifty thousand rupees whilst the best batsman and best bowler will receive twenty-five thousand (~$215) each. The board meeting has decided to resume their closed camp from the first of February, as soon as the completion of their national cricket tournament on 30th January.
