Podcast catch-up: Norman Vanua Part Two

In case you missed it, we caught up with Norman Vanua in part two of our special with the PNG all-rounder. Open and honest once again, Vanua discusses the miracle of World Cricket League 2, qualifying for the T20 World Cup, the growth of the game in the Pacific and what he (jokingly) wants banned from the game!

Hailing from the Hanuabada village where there has been a lineage of internationally reknowned sportspeople, Vanua provides an open account of his upbringing, pathway to the national team, and the rollercoaster ride of international cricket. From soul-searching after the disappointment of the 2018 World Cup Qualifier to squeezing into the top four at World Cricket League 2 in 2019 on net run rate, Norman has experienced nearly every emotion there is in Associate cricket.

With the men’s T20 World Cup still at this stage going ahead, Norman also outlines his team’s plan for their Australian assault, and explains how special it is for the Barras to play in a mate’s backyard of Australia.

As well as our chat with Norman, we also catch up with news from several pockets around the world where cricket operations have resumed. Vanuatu continue to map out some more domestic action for everyone around the world to watch, plus we discuss the postponement of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier, the Everest Premier League and much, much more!
