On the back of their results in the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier – the trio of HK, Oman and UAE will take their places at the 2019 Emerging Teams Asia Cup after the men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers, from November 14 in Bangladesh.
All three sides also competed at a 2018 event where an impressive UAE only just missed out on qualifying for the finals.
The 50-over format event will see Group B matches will be held at BKSP while the Group A games will take place in Cox’s Bazar.
The hosts have been drawn with India, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates in Group B and Group A comprises Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman.
Following the event, Hong Kong will race home to host the first round of CWC Challenge League Group B. The make up of the team is also TBC after the announcement that skipper Anshuman Rath has switched allegiance to India and four other players have withdrawn their availability.
UAE will see their first ODI action of the CWC League 2 when Scotland and USA travel to the Middle East in December. In January, Muscat will play host to Oman’s next League 2 assignment after their impressive start when they take on Namibia and UAE.
