The European Cricket League (ECL) has announced an expansion for 2020, in both the number of teams and tournament length.
Running from May 31 to June 7, ECL 2020 will include champions from more than the eight countries that vied for the 2019 title.
In a press release today, the league attributed its growth to “huge interest and demand for the competition.” Across 43 broadcasters, the ECL reached over 140 million households, in over 120 countries across the world.
VOC Rotterdam of the Netherlands took out the inaugural tournament, defeating Germany’s SG Findorff in the Final. VOC will make their return to the tournament by virtue of qualifying again, as will Pavel Florin’s Cluj who defended their Romanian title.
