Cricket Hong Kong and EPIC Group join forces for men’s All Stars Series

Cricket Hong Kong has announced that the EPIC Group will be the principal sponsor and name rights holder for the upcoming men’s All Stars Series 2021; meaning that it will be known as the EPIC Group All Stars Series 2021. 2021 will see the event’s inaugural edition and will run between the 26th March – 3rd April at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.

The tournament will see three teams comprised of Hong Kong’s premier talent compete against each other in a T20 format and a 50-over series. The T20 series will see all three teams compete across two days, playing three round-robin matches followed by a grand final. The 50 over competition will see the teams re-drafted with the Hong Kong Islanders taking on the Kowloon Lions in a best of 3 series.

Cricket Hong Kong will broadcast all of the games live with fans being able to watch the action either on the Association’s Facebook page or on Fancode.

Each of the three teams represents one of the major districts in Hong Kong. The Kowloon Lions represent Hong Kong’s most populous district shadowed by Lion Rock. The New Territories Tigers name pays homage to the wild Tigers that used to roam the hills of the New Territories and The Hong Kong Islanders whose name reflects Hong Kong’s most distinctive landmarks.

When talking about the deal between Cricket Hong Kong and the EPIC group, Cricket Hong Kong General Manager – High Performance, Mark Farmer was quoted as stating that ‘We’re incredibly excited to have EPIC Group on board as the naming rights sponsor for the Epic Group All Stars Series. Epic Group’s support will contribute immeasurably to the growth of this event and ensure it becomes the showcase event for Hong Kong’s best international and domestic cricketers’.

The EPIC Group chairman Ranjan Mahtani also was quoted as saying ‘Hong Kong is the home and headquarter of the EPIC Group and our Board of Directors have always been very passionate about Cricket. We feel that it is an absolute privilege of ours to be the official principal sponsor of the “All-Star Series 2021”. We strongly believe that such a tournament will help to promote and nurture the right talent and represent us on the international level in the future’.
