Bermudan Rawlins’ 2020 recognised by Sussex

Sussex County Cricket Club have recognised Bermudan player Delray Rawlins as one of the county’s top performers during the 2020 season. 

Rawlins played five matches in the Bob Willis Trophy during 2020 and performed well with both bat and ball. During his ten first-class innings, the left-hander scored 252 runs and an average of 25.20 with a high score of 65 which came against Surrey at the KIA Oval. Rawlins also played a larger role with the ball in hand than in previous seasons. He bowled a total of 69.5 overs of his left-arm spin taking three wickets in the process.

The left-hander also had success during the 2020 edition of the Vitality Blast. He scored a total of 208 runs with a strike-rate of 133, also taking eight wickets at an average of just 13.25.

It has recently confirmed that the Bermudan all-rounder will be at the ‘Southern Brave’ for the inaugural edition of The Hundred in 2021, alongside the likes of Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, James Vince, George Garton and Tymal Mills.

Fans will be hoping to see more of Rawlins’ exciting style of play during 2021 with Sussex playing against Kent, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Northamptonshire and Glamorgan during a revamped county championship and the Vitality Blast, along with the return of England’s 50-over competition, the Royal London Cup after a season without it due to the effects of the global pandemic.
